Traders who lost their investment through the Odawna markets fire outbreak will from Monday, November 30, 2020, receive their support as announced by President Akufo-Addo.
As of Monday, the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI), which was directed with the responsibility to provide financial support to the affected traders had registered 1,743 out of the 3,000 targeted beneficiaries.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the Greater Accra Regional Manager of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre – Masloc, Mr. Dennis Okyere Danso disclosed the disbursement for the affected traders will start on Monday.
He said most of the victims had become so traumatized but assured them of the government’s support.
Fire razed the pedestrian mall at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange in Accra last Wednesday, burning more than 300 shops and containers at the market which housed about 4,000 traders.
