Ghana’s Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has travelled to the US following post-Covid-19 complications.
He recovered from the disease in December but his doctors advised that he needed further medical attention.
Mr Ofori-Atta was due to appear before a parliamentary committee on Tuesday for vetting as finance minister.
President Nana Akufo-Addo’s cabinet nominees are being vetted by parliament following his reelection on 7 December.
In a statement, the government said the finance minister will be in the US for at least two weeks.
Ghana has now recorded more than 75,000 of the virus and more than 500 deaths.
